For those of you who aren't familiar with such books as the Omnivore's
Dilemma by Pollan or Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Kingsolver may not know the term locavore. A locavore
is a person who consumes food locally, without other dietary restrictions (Kingsolver tried this for a year, and it's a pretty
tough thing to do south of Maine).
Locavores will soon be part of the dietary landscape, though one wonders
how the airlines will handle requests for a "locavore" menu option.
Here in Maine, Mainers have always been locavores. It's called
